Why do I need to Detox if I eat right?

Our body continuously building new cells and breaking down old ones. Most of the  broken down material gets recycled or removed. But not all of it and, little by little, an accumulation of toxins builds up in the system.  

Most of this unwanted material is deposited in our guts, colon, liver, lymphatic system and kidneys. These toxic accumulations become the cause of many health issues. Various cleansing methods have been used in many traditional medicinal practices to flush out toxins. Nowadays, some medical practitioners consider that many serious diseases in modern society can be postponed, reduced in severity or prevented by regular cleansing. 

The easy solution that this program offers is a mild detox through healthy diet and  supporting supplements. Unlike fasting, it does not put the body through physical and emotional stress and is usually well tolerated.
What reactions may I experience?

The detox flushes out the toxic material your body has accumulated. Your body gets  detoxified through all channels of elimination. Which means that during the first few days the toxic material will be circulating through your system. That is why it is so important to drink a lot of water and make sure that your colon functions efficiently (i.e. you are not constipating). 

Effects will range from person to person. Loose bowels and increased urination are  often experienced in the first days. Some other minor symptoms that may be experienced are nausea, headaches, flu-like symptoms, low energy level, muscle aching, skin blemishes, and irritability. Some of the existing symptoms (e.g. skin problems) are initially getting worse. Surprisingly, these are positive signs indicating that  the body is eliminating toxins. The symptoms should improve or vanish as your body flushes out toxicities. 

On average, these symptoms last for the first few days and are quite tolerable. As the  cleanse comes to an end one usually feels lighter and healthier. Cleansing becomes easier when it is done on a regular basis. Initially, it is recommended to complete at least two cleanses within 6 month period. When you become more experienced at cleansing the body detox process will become easier and more effective.
What if I have to go to a restaurant?

Plan your detox in advance. It is not a good idea to do it during a holiday season or any  social or family gathering. If your weekends are very social times, start it on Monday. That way you will only have one weekend during the 10 Day Detox. 

Just for 10 days plan to eat home as much as possible. Most restaurants do not serve  food that is appropriate. If you do eat out, try to eat food that fits into your meal plan. 

Grabbing food on-the- go such as bagels, muffins, etc. is not an option during the detox  program. Plan your meals and snacks in advance and always have some food or recommended snacks with you. Don’t let yourself go hungry.
Do I have to follow the meal plan exactly?

How do I prepare for the detox?

No special preparation is needed. You will have your step-by- step Detox Guide which is  easy to follow. It is recommended, however, to plan your Detox in advance, decide on which day you  can begin the program, and put a little time aside for yourself.

You can buy all the food at your favorite grocery store. Whenever possible choose the  cleanest food: organically grown fruit and vegetables, grass-fed meat, wild fish, organic pastured eggs.
Can my family participate in the Detox program?

Many people find they lose weight over the 10-Day Detox period. If they continue with  the Meal Plan, they continue to lose weight.
